We are seeking an exceptional candidate to strategically grow and manage our software testing capabilities as a Quality Assurance Tester. This role will require a QA tester ready to play a key part in our software development efforts, interfacing directly with the engineering and project management teams to ensure superb-quality deployments of software enhancements. As the key lead on our software testing, you will learn our innovative KALE software suite from the inside out and maintain a high standard of quality in diligently investigating and tracking bugs to closure. As a Quality Assurance Tester, you’ll combine organizational skills, familiarity with software development, and a keen detail orientation to help ensure we settle for nothing less than the highest standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for testing and evaluating PII’s proprietary software applications.
- Design, develop and execute manual test cases and test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
- Find, report, and track software bugs through to resolution.
- Record and document results and compare to expected results.
- Detect software failures so that defects may be discovered and corrected.
- Prioritize and manage a large volume of testing projects simultaneously with different priorities and deadlines.
- Work closely with technical team to document all findings, defects and requirement variances.
- Validate production features and functionality against requirement documents.
- Actively communicate testing status including schedule, risks, issues, defects, and potential impacts.
- Work closely with business owners and end user groups to assess needs, resolve questions and facilitate understanding.
- Participate in further developing our testing process and strategy for ongoing and new projects.
- Provide application instructions for users.
- Conduct functional testing
Required Skills
- 1+ years’ experience in software testing a clear interest in developing skills within the QA field including experience in the Agile / Scrum development lifecycle
- Strong understanding of acceptance testing, test case development, execution of test procedures
- Ability to write and execute acceptance tests and test cases a must.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work with technical and non-technical staff.Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with a curious mind for investigating and breaking software.
- Detail-orientation with the ability to understand how each aspect interacts with the big picture.
- A solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and programming fundamentals. You do not need to be able to program our systems, but a working knowledge will help you excel in this role.
- Proven perseverance to carry a set of software deliverables from requirements to testing completion.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. (Chinese a plus)
