Why is this course unique?
This course teaches students how to solve human performance problems through the analysis of inadequate mental states. We have found that about 70% of errors are made due to inadequate mental states without any help from external factors (i.e., error-likely situations or error traps). Unless we investigate and understand the underlying mental states that initiate the error-prone behavior and, eventually, errors, we cannot solve human performance problems.
This course is the only course that delves into inadequate mental states that cause triggering events. Whether it isa skill-based, rule-based or knowledge-based error, there is always a true root cause that can be identified and corrective actions can be assigned for preventing reoccurrence. This course is also the only course that examines causes of LOP failures. With an integrated view of the causes of triggering events and of LOP failures, the root cause(s) of an event can be positively determined. This course applies KALE Software’s Human Performance iRCA (called HiRCA) module to lead the students through a rigorous root cause investigation process, i.e., from a problem statement to root causes, and to corrective actions.
This course is developed based on 30 years of R&D about why we make errors and how could we correct them effectively. Unlike other RCA human course on the market, this course is principle-based, rigorous, and all-inclusive in solving all kinds of human performance problems.
